So I've always been searching for an image of a BOWLING ALLEY LANE, that was
drawn to scale, and I finally gave up and decided to make my own.
On top of that, I decided to show how the PBA sport patterns would look on these
lanes. (Since those were the best examples on the web.)
I basically took the squat images on www.pba.com,
used to show the design of the patterns, screen captured the lanes without the
distance numbers and stretched and thinned them them to dimensions that were
relatively to scale to actual lane dimensions.
It's wacky because from the bowlers perspective, the Bowling Alley does seem so much shorter and
your Bowling Ball, when it hooks, seems to cover at least 6 to 10 feet of lane!!
But that's an optical illusion in our mind, much like the LARGE MOON AT MOONRISE
scenario. When you get them in your image viewer, and zoom out, they sure
do look pretty thin.
I tried to stay as close to accurate with width and length to the best of my
ability and I do not know if the images exactly reflect in accuracy, the laying
down of the pattern! Enjoy everyone!!
(There are smaller, almost fit to screen versions below the oil legend.)
